Sea mines laid in Hormuz; removal may take up to six months after the war ends

International

Tehran: The situation in the Strait of Hormuz remains extremely fragile. Disruptions to maritime traffic through this crucial passage—which connects the Persian Gulf to the Gulf of Oman—have affected the supply of oil and gas to countries ranging from Asia to Europe. A significant portion of energy exports from Gulf nations passes through this route. Iran is using this narrow maritime corridor as a strategic bargaining tool, contributing to a global energy crisis. India, too, has not remained unaffected by these developments.
