Washington: A series of major decisions are being taken within the U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon). President Donald Trump had removed Army Chief Randy George from his position on April 2. Now, Navy Chief John Phelan has also been dismissed from his post. Additionally, a senior official associated with the nuclear department, Andrew Hugg, has been suspended over allegations of leaking sensitive information, reportedly after being caught in a honey trap.
These developments come at a time when the United States is engaged in escalating tensions with Iran. The U.S. Navy remains actively deployed in the Persian Gulf region.
