Thousands Forced to Flee Their Homes

Port-au-Prince: Haiti’s capital, Port-au-Prince, has once again been engulfed in intense violence and gang warfare. The city’s outer neighborhoods, particularly Cité Soleil and Croix-des-Bouquets, have witnessed days of brutal clashes that have now escalated into a major humanitarian crisis. According to reports, at least 78 people have lost their lives, while more than 66 others have suffered serious injuries.

A report by the United Nations stated that the victims include 10 civilians, among them women and a young girl. Over the past two years, criminal gangs have steadily tightened their control over these areas, severely disrupting daily life and public safety. The situation has deteriorated to such an extent that residents are being forced to flee in large numbers to save their lives.

Recent estimates indicate that nearly 5,300 people have already been displaced due to fear and ongoing violence. Several parts of the capital now remain deserted, while displaced families continue searching for secure shelter and assistance. International organizations have expressed deep concern over the worsening humanitarian crisis and the growing insecurity across Haiti.
