London: India’s assistant coach Riyan ten Doeschate stated that players need to adjust their approach to local pitches and playing conditions to achieve success on overseas tours. According to him, techniques that work effectively in India may not produce the same results in different countries.
He noted that the fast and bouncy pitches during the tours of England and Ireland exposed certain weaknesses in the Indian batting lineup. Doeschate emphasized that the team must also develop the right mindset, adapt quickly to unfamiliar environments, and become comfortable with varying playing conditions.
Looking ahead, he advised the players to begin preparing with the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup in Australia in mind, stressing that early planning and continuous improvement will be essential for performing successfully in Australian conditions.
