A devastating fire broke out late Sunday night at a pub in Bangkok’s Chatuchak district, Thailand, claiming the lives of 27 people and injuring 63 others. Authorities reported that 22 of the injured are in critical condition.
The blaze triggered widespread panic inside the crowded venue, forcing patrons to scramble for safety. In an attempt to escape the flames and thick smoke, some people took refuge in the restrooms but were unable to make it out safely.
Firefighters managed to bring the fire under control within approximately 30 minutes. Officials have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the incident, while also reviewing the venue’s safety measures and operating permits.
