A nationwide survey has revealed mixed public opinion regarding the use of E20 petrol. Among 22,567 petrol vehicle owners across 316 districts, 53% expressed dissatisfaction with the way the fuel has been introduced. Additionally, 66% of respondents reported a decline in their vehicle’s fuel efficiency after switching to E20 petrol. Around 45% also said that maintenance and repair costs had increased. Owners of vehicles manufactured before 2023 were particularly likely to report reduced performance and engine-related issues. The survey findings have reignited debate over the wider adoption and impact of E20 petrol.
