Big News Child

Continuous heavy rainfall across Jammu and Kashmir has caused a sharp rise in the water level of the Chenab River. To regulate the increasing flow and maintain safety, authorities opened three gates of the Baglihar Hydroelectric Project in Ramban district, allowing excess water to be released.

Officials stated that the measure was taken to reduce pressure on the dam and ensure its structural safety. Persistent rainfall has also affected the Doda and Kishtwar regions, prompting the administration to closely monitor the evolving situation. All concerned departments have been instructed to remain on high alert so that any emergency can be addressed without delay.
