Massive Fire at Shoe Factory in China Claims 28 Lives

At least 28 people lost their lives after a devastating fire broke out at a shoe manufacturing factory in Jinjiang City, Fujian Province, eastern China, on Thursday. The incident occurred at around 12:00 p.m., and the flames rapidly engulfed the entire building.

Emergency authorities launched a large-scale rescue operation, deploying 183 rescue personnel and 35 fire engines to control the blaze and assist those affected. Preliminary investigations indicate that combustible materials stored on the ground floor may have contributed to the rapid spread of the fire.

Chinese President Xi Jinping has directed authorities to ensure the best possible medical treatment for the injured, intensify efforts to locate missing individuals, provide full support to the families of the victims, and take strict legal action against those found responsible for the tragedy.
