New Delhi: A five-storey building under construction suddenly collapsed behind the MCD School in Sector-16, Rohini, on Wednesday. The incident claimed the life of a passerby, while authorities fear that between five and ten people may still be trapped beneath the debris.
Following the incident, teams from the police, fire department, and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) rushed to the site and immediately launched rescue and relief operations. According to the fire department, information about the collapse was received at approximately 4:20 p.m., after which multiple fire engines were dispatched to the location.
Officials are closely monitoring the situation, and rescue teams are continuing efforts to safely locate and evacuate anyone trapped under the rubble.
