New Delhi. The second wave of coronavirus may have slowed down in India, but the threat of black fungus (mucormycosis) emerging as a new problem still remains. Black fungus cases have become serious in many states of the country. After corona, the cost of treatment of black fungus is costing people. The cost of anti fungal injections used to treat black fungus is very expensive. The cost of a day for its treatment is at least around Rs 35000, so black fungus is also a problem for people on the financial front. Meanwhile, news of a relief has come for the patients of black fungus. Doctors have come up with such a way to treat black fungus, which can cost it up to 100 times cheaper, that is, the cost of Rs 35,000 in a day can come up to Rs 350. Under this, the patient’s blood creatinine level can be measured. Monitoring has to be done, after which the cost will be reduced significantly. The name of the injection used in the treatment of black fungus is ‘Amphoterecin’. In view of the increasing cases of black fungus, there is a shortage of this injection in the market. In such a situation, doctors are preparing to treat in other ways. Doctors have told that other methods of treatment also have a similar effect on black fungus. However, the conventional form of amphotericin should not be used on patients with comorbidities, especially those with kidney conditions.
