New Delhi . The Indian Army is supporting the country’s fight against Kovid-19 through Operation ‘Samudra Setu’. Under this, Indian Navy ship INS Airavat reached Visakhapatnam on Thursday with important corona relief consignments including liquid medical oxygen oxygen cylinders and ventilators from Vietnam and Singapore. The Indian Navy informed that this ship has reached Visakhapatnam with 158 metric tonnes of liquid medical oxygen, 2722 oxygen cylinders, and other corona relief material including 10 ventilators from Vietnam and Singapore in seven cryogenic oxygen tanks. Significantly, on May 10, INS Airavat arrived at Visakhapatnam from Singapore with eight cryogenic oxygen tanks and about 4,000 oxygen cylinders along with other vital medical supplies. Similarly, it reached Kochi on 27 May with 80 MT. The Navy had launched Operation Samudra Setu- to augment the ongoing national mission to meet oxygen requirements in view of the rise in corona cases. Under this, the Navy is working on a war footing and the work of bringing medical oxygen from abroad is also going on.
