New Delhi: Speculation regarding a possible reshuffle and expansion of the Union Cabinet has gained momentum following the completion of the second year of the central government’s current term. Recent organizational decisions taken by the ruling party, along with developments related to the Rajya Sabha elections, have further fueled political discussions on the matter.
The reassignment of responsibilities to certain Union ministers and the absence of some prominent names from the list of Rajya Sabha candidates have become key points of debate in political circles. The present Council of Ministers, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, assumed office in June 2024.
Political observers note that cabinet changes were also introduced after the completion of two years during previous administrations.
