New Delhi: In the Nirbhaya gang rape and murder case, the Supreme Court on Wednesday (January 29) will pronounce the order on the plea filed by one of the convicts, Mukesh Kumar Singh, against the rejection of his mercy petition by President Ram Nath Kovind. Mukesh approached the top court on Monday seeking urgent hearing on his plea against the dismissal of his mercy petition.
A three-judge bench of the apex court headed by Justice R Banumathi along with Justice AS Bopanna and Justice Ashok Bhushan heard the arguments on Tuesday and will pronounce its order at 10.30 am today. The four convicts, Mukesh Kumar Singh, Pawan Kumar Gupta, Vinay Kumar Sharma, and Akshay Kumar Singh, are facing execution on February 1 in the 2012 Delhi gang-rape case.
