Minimum temperatures fall below 5°C at 20 major locations across the state
Shimla: Shimla and Manali in Himachal Pradesh have witnessed the first snowfall of the season, which is still continuing. Kangra has received rainfall, while strong winds have been blowing in Shimla since late night. Chamba is also experiencing continuous rain, leading to power outages in several areas. Cold wave conditions prevailed in Barthin, Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Una, Mandi, and Kangra. At 20 major locations across the state, minimum temperatures dropped below 5 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for Friday, warning of heavy snowfall and strong winds with speeds of 40 to 50 km/h in the Lahaul-Spiti, Chamba, and Kullu districts.
