Voting for two phases of the assembly elections in West Bengal has already been completed. However, following complaints received from certain polling stations, the Election Commission of India decided to conduct re-polling. According to the Commission, fresh voting is being held at a total of 15 polling booths in the Diamond Harbour and Magrahat West assembly constituencies.

Officials stated that voting at all these booths began at 7 a.m. and will continue until 6 p.m. Voter turnout has shown enthusiasm, while strict security arrangements have been put in place to ensure smooth proceedings.

Meanwhile, in the Falta area, some individuals staged protests demanding re-polling. Protesters alleged that attempts were being made to intimidate them and blamed local political workers for such actions. They also called for fair and secure voting conditions.

Considering the situation, security deployment across the region has been intensified. Police and central security forces are closely monitoring developments to ensure that the voting process is conducted peacefully.
