National

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has introduced a new system to ensure that construction workers receive the benefits of various welfare schemes more easily. Under the revised process, workers can now complete their registration using only an Aadhaar card and proof of 90 days of employment. The Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board has simplified the procedure to encourage a larger number of laborers to enroll in government programs.

The primary aim of the initiative is to provide financial and social security to workers. Registered laborers will become eligible for several welfare schemes, including pension support, medical assistance, educational aid for children, skill development training, and financial support for daughters’ marriages. In addition, registered workers will receive priority in employment-related assistance programs.

The government has also warned people against fraud in the name of welfare benefits. If anyone demands money for facilitating access to government schemes, complaints can be filed through the toll-free helpline number 18001805412. Authorities have urged workers to complete registration only through officially authorized channels.
