Three Accused Arrested in Purnia Gangrape Case, Police Seize Car and Mobile Phones

Police in Bihar’s Purnia district have arrested three individuals in connection with the alleged gangrape of a woman. The incident reportedly took place under the jurisdiction of the Mufassil police station. The survivor, a resident of Katihar district, informed police that she had reached Andeli Chowk on May 12 for some personal work after receiving a phone call from a man identified as Rounak Thakur.

According to the complaint, the accused later arrived at the location at night in a silver-colored car along with two accomplices. The woman was allegedly taken to a garage near Gaura Mor on the pretext of further discussion. Police said the accused then forcibly assaulted her despite her resistance.

Following the complaint, law enforcement authorities launched an immediate operation and arrested all three suspects during raids conducted in the area. Investigators have also seized the vehicle allegedly used in the incident along with several mobile phones linked to the case.

The investigation is currently underway, and police are continuing further legal proceedings.
