Gold Worth ₹14.7 Million Hidden Inside Airport Flush Button; Bangladeshi Transit Passenger Arrested at Delhi Airport

Customs officials at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport have uncovered a major gold smuggling operation. Authorities seized gold valued at approximately ₹14.7 million (₹1.47 crore) and arrested a Bangladeshi transit passenger in connection with the case.

During the investigation, officials discovered that the accused had concealed pouches filled with gold inside the flush button of an airport restroom. Acting on suspicious activity, the Customs team detained the passenger for questioning, during which he admitted to his involvement in the smuggling attempt.

The recovered gold has been confiscated, and a case has been registered against the accused under the Customs Act. Further investigation into the matter is currently underway.
