Fake Constable Arrested for Extorting Money in Delhi

Delhi Police have arrested a 26-year-old man for allegedly posing as a police constable and extorting money from the public while dressed in an official police uniform. The accused, identified as Shahrukh Khan, is a resident of Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.

According to the investigation, he was serving as a Civil Defence volunteer but misused a Delhi Police uniform to impersonate a constable. He allegedly targeted two-wheeler and three-wheeler drivers, demanding money from them illegally on public roads.

Acting on specific information, police apprehended the suspect and recovered a Delhi Police uniform from his possession. A case has been registered against him under the relevant legal provisions. Authorities are also investigating whether he was operating independently or was part of a larger extortion network.
