Faith and Devotion Surge at Shiva Temples on Sawan’s Final Monday

New Delhi: On the final Monday of Sawan, large numbers of devotees gathered at prominent Shiva temples across India. Major shrines, including Kashi Vishwanath in Varanasi, Mahakaleshwar in Ujjain and Baba Baidyanath Dham in Deoghar, witnessed heavy footfall from early morning as devotees arrived for darshan and the ritual offering of water. At Kashi Vishwanath, around 1.05 lakh devotees had reportedly visited by 7 a.m. In Deoghar, the queue stretched nearly four kilometres. Ujjain also saw devotees participate in Bhasma Aarti and special prayers. Similar religious ceremonies, including Rudrabhishek and Jalabhishek, were held in several other cities.
