The Gujarat government has introduced special employment benefits for former Agniveers in state government recruitment. According to Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, ex-Agniveers will receive a 20% reservation in direct recruitment for Class III government posts across various departments.
In addition, eligible candidates will be exempt from the physical efficiency test and will receive an age relaxation of up to three years beyond the prescribed upper age limit. Members of the first batch of the Agniveer scheme will be granted an extended age relaxation of up to five years.
These benefits will apply to recruitment processes in the police force, State Reserve Police (SRP), prison department, and the forest and environment department. The initiative is aimed at enhancing employment opportunities for former Agniveers and supporting their transition into civilian careers after military service.
