BJP Leads on 126 Seats in Bengal Crosses Majority Mark in Assam

Big News

New Delhi: Vote counting is underway for the Assembly elections held across five regions—West Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and the Union Territory of Puducherry. Early trends indicate that in West Bengal, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has surged past the 100-seat mark and is leading on 126 seats, giving it an edge over the Trinamool Congress (TMC). The contest in the state remains closely fought.

In Assam, the BJP has crossed the majority threshold, positioning itself strongly to retain power. Meanwhile, in Kerala, the United Democratic Front (UDF) appears to be ahead in the initial trends. In Tamil Nadu, the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) is maintaining its lead.

The results from these key states, along with Puducherry, will determine whether the incumbent government led by Rangaswamy continues or if there will be a shift in power.
