The Bihar government has approved a series of major decisions aimed at strengthening village panchayats both financially and administratively. Under the new measures, gram panchayats will have the authority to collect revenue through taxes, service charges, and various local fees, helping them increase their income and become more self-reliant in carrying out development projects. The Cabinet has also approved the delimitation of panchayats based on the 2011 Census to ensure better administrative efficiency and balanced implementation of welfare schemes in line with population changes.
