Kolkata: Kolkata Police underwent a major reshuffle on Tuesday. A total of 21 Inspector-rank officers were transferred on instructions from Kolkata police headquarters in Lalbazar. Officers-in-Charge (OCs) of several police stations were replaced, creating new appointments across the city.
According to the police, Additional OC Bireshwar Roy of Maniktala Police Station has been appointed as the new OC of Taltala Police Station. Additional OC Manish Majumdar of Sinthi Police Station will now command the Ultadanga Police Station. Additional OC Rajiv Chattopadhyay of Tollygunge Police Station has been appointed as the OC of Tollygunge Police Station.
Additional OC Vipul Biswas of Bansdroni Police Station has been appointed as the new OC of Tangra Police Station. Meanwhile, Additional OC of Muchipara Police Station, Ashish Basu, has been appointed OC of North Port Police Station. These important postings are expected to improve law and order in the city.
In addition, changes have been made at the Additional OC level in several police stations. Rajiv Sarkar, Additional OC of Tangra Police Station, will now assume the responsibility of Additional OC of Muchipara Police Station. Prashant Kumar Das, Additional OC of Taltala Police Station, has been appointed Additional OC of Parnashri Police Station. Deepak Mandal has been appointed as the new Additional OC of Bansdroni Police Station.
Similarly, Prashant Kumar Ghosh has been appointed Additional OC of Tangra Police Station, while Sagar Mukherjee will now be Additional OC of Taliganj Police Station. Mrinmoy Majumdar has been appointed Additional OC of Ultadanga Police Station. Subir Saha will be posted as Additional OC of Sinthi Police Station. Prasanjit Dhar, the additional OC of Parnasree police station, has been transferred to Maniktala police station. Parth Pratim Chakraborty has been appointed the new additional OC of Pragati Maidan police station.
Police officials said that this reshuffle is aimed at streamlining administrative operations and further strengthening law and order in the city.
