Ahmedabad| Indian Oil Corporation will set up 6 new projects in Gujarat with an investment of Rs 24 thousand crores in Vadodara. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Government of Gujarat and Indian Oil Corporation in this regard in Gandhinagar on Monday in the presence of Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Steel Dharmendra Pradhan. On behalf of the Government of Gujarat, Chief Minister cum Additional Chief Secretary of Industries Department M.K. The MoU was signed and exchanged by the company’s Chairman Shrikant Madhav Vaidya on behalf of Das and Indian Oil Corporation. Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan congratulated the Government of Gujarat and IOCL for the MoU signed between the Government of Gujarat and IOCL for an investment of Rs 24,000 crore. The Union Minister said that the whole world is worrying about climate change and global warming, but Gujarat started using natural gas on a large scale, worrying about it only one and a half decades ago. Pradhan said the share of natural gas in India’s total energy consumption is around 6 per cent, while globally it is close to 24 per cent. At the same time, the share of natural gas in Gujarat is 26 percent, which is also 2 percent higher than the global average. He said that when any case is compared with the country and the world, then Gujarat’s specialty is visible. In this context, Pradhan said that Gujarat has given a new philosophy of wealth creation by balancing public interest with the development of industries. The Union Minister said that hydrogen is considered as the cleanest fuel in the world. Hydrogen will be produced at Vadodara Refinery. Hydrogen powered buses will be the first to be introduced in Gujarat with the joint efforts of Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) and IOCL at world famous tourist places Kevadiya, Vadodara, Gandhinagar, Karnavati and Gandhidham. Dharmendra Pradhan while praising the Gujarat government for its health management during the corona pandemic said that Gujarat has supplied oxygen to other states of the country, balancing its oxygen requirements. He said that Gujarat has become the first choice of investors, at its core is the innovative programs adopted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the all-round development of the state. Modi has shown a new path of development, which the Chief Minister of the state Vijay Rupani is taking forward at an even faster pace. The Union Minister said that the foundation stone of these projects would be completed in the coming days by the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi
