New Delhi. Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan has said that India will achieve 267 crore doses of Kovid-19 vaccine by the end of 2021. According to an official statement, the Health Minister said that only 51 crore doses of Kovid-19 vaccine will be available by the month of July, this number will increase by 216 crore between August and December. He urged the states to ensure thorough immunization of health and frontline workers as they are in the highly sensitive / fragile category.
Speaking to Health Ministers and Principal Secretaries / Additional Chief Secretaries of the eight states of West Bengal and Northeast, Harsh Vardhan said, “From August to December 2021, India will achieve 216 crore doses as compared to 51 crore doses by July 1 this year. Harsh Vardhan said that by the end of the year, the country would be in a position to at least get its adult population vaccinated according to the Health Ministry statement. The statement said that in the eight states of West Bengal and Northeast, there is an increase in daily cases of infection and in cases of deaths and the rate of infection is also increasing.
The Union Health Minister said that now small states are seeing an increase in cases of infections and need to be cautious about this. During this, he also outlined the steps taken by the government to prevent the epidemic. The statement quoted him as saying, “We have increased our capacity to 25 lakh people every day. India has historically screened over 20 lakh people for the first time in a single day.” It is also a global record. He emphasized on strengthening the investigation centers in the areas around the cities and rural areas.
