New Delhi. There is now a decrease in cases of corona virus infection in the country. However, a large number of corona patients are still being treated in hospitals in the country. Meanwhile, Dr. DS Rana, Chairperson of Sir Gangaram Hospital, Delhi, has said that Remedesivir injections are also being considered soon to be removed from the treatment of Kovid-19.
This is being done because there is no evidence of its effect in treating patients. The move comes after the use of plasma therapy has been removed from the treatment protocol for Kovid-19 according to the advice of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). Dr. Rana said that in plasma therapy we give pre-forward antibodies to someone who has been infected before, so that the antibody can fight the virus. Antibodies are usually formed when the corona virus attacks.
He said that in the last one year we have seen that giving plasma does not matter in the condition of the patient and others. Also it is not easily available. Plasma therapy was started on scientific grounds and has been discontinued on the basis of evidence. Dr. Rana says that if we talk about the medicines given in the treatment of corona, then no evidence has been found regarding Remedesivir injection that it is effective in the treatment. Drugs that do not have any effect will have to be discontinued.
He said that experimental drugs, plasma therapy, now discontinued, or remediesvir, could all be removed by treatment soon, as no evidence has emerged of its effects. At the moment, only three drugs are mainly working.
