IED blast near Israeli embassy, no casualties

(New Delhi) The IED blast occurred near the Israeli embassy in Delhi. There is no report of any injuries in the blast which took place at around 5:00 meters on Friday evening, about 150 meters from the embassy building. However, the glass of three vehicles broke at the scene. After the blast, security agencies reached the spot and took control. Let us tell you that Friday was also the 29th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Israel.
The borders of Delhi have been closed after the blast. Security has been increased for the Consulate General and the Israeli Embassy. Foreign ministers of India and Israel have discussed the matter. India has assured them of security. The State Department of Israel issued a statement on the matter saying that it was a terrorist attack. They said that we are working together. All borders of Delhi have been closed due to security. High alert has been issued in Delhi after the blast. Security has been increased at airports, railway stations. The administration has increased the security of 38 important buildings and crowded places.
Delhi Police said that there has been a low intensity blast near the Israeli embassy. Currently, an attempt is being made to find out the reason for this. Some broken pieces of glass have been found by chance. The blast happened at 5:00 in the evening. The glass of three vehicles standing nearby broke in the blast. However, there are no reports of injuries or casualties. The investigating agencies said that it was an IED blast. The chemical was placed in a bottle in a pot on the roadside. Chemical is recovered in a bottle from the blast site. The forensic team has started investigating the recovered chemical. Teams from NIA, ATS, FSL and Special Cell have reached the spot after the blast. The surrounding area has been sealed by security agencies. Special Cell of Delhi Police has started investigation of the blast.
Preliminary analysis of the CCTV footage revealed that a car driver had thrown the bomb in a packet at the blast site. The identity of the owner is being ascertained based on the number of the car. The entire area has been converted into a cantonment. Meanwhile, Israel’s State Department has called the blast a terrorist attack. Earlier, the State Department issued a statement saying that we are working together with India. Bilateral relations between the two countries have further strengthened over the years. After the blast, India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar held discussions with the Israeli Foreign Minister. Jaishankar has assured them of safety. It is noteworthy that earlier in February 2012, a car of the Israeli Embassy was targeted.
