Jammu.The security forces have killed three terrorists in an encounter on Friday in Tral, Jammu and Kashmir. These terrorists belonged to Hizbul Mujahideen. An AK-47, 2 pistols and 4 grenades have also been recovered from the militants killed in the encounter.
IGP Vijay Kumar of Jammu Kashmir Police said that the three terrorists killed are local and belong to Hizbul. Security forces were informed of the presence of militants in Mandora area of Tral. A joint team of army, police and CRPF laid siege to the area. Meanwhile, the terrorists started firing. The terrorists were given a chance to surrender. But, he continued firing. After this, three terrorists were killed in the encounter. He said that during the search, the landlord had confessed to hiding the terrorist in the house. When the terrorists were asked to surrender, they threw a grenade from inside. After this, the encounter started.
According to the IGP, one of the slain terrorists was involved in terrorism in August last year. The remaining two terrorists joined the terrorist organization on 1 January this year. The IGP said that on January 2, a grenade was fired at the SSB bunker in Tral, injuring 8 locals and a jawan. He said that Arif Bashir of Marhama, a terrorist, was identified in the attack, who was killed in an encounter that took place today. Apart from this, the other two terrorists have been identified as heirs Hassan Naiku and Syed Hafiz.
