Till 22 January in 9 states (Kerala, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and Punjab) for chickens and 12 states (Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh for crows / migratory / wild birds) , Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab) outbreak of avian flu (bird flu) has been confirmed. District Almora of Uttarakhand (RK Pura, Hawalbagh); Avian flu has been confirmed in chickens taken from Gujarat’s district Somnath (Dolasa, Kodinar). Crows in the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir (Kulgam, Anantnag, Budgam and Pulwama); The avian flu has been confirmed in the Kaliji pheasant in the Tehri range of Uttarakhand. However, samples of crows taken from Alwar district of Rajasthan have been found to be negative for avian flu. Control and prevention actions (sanitation and disinfection) are being carried out in the affected centers of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Kerala. All the states are providing information to the Department every day regarding the control measures adopted by all the States / Union Territories based on the revised Action Plan, 2021 for the preparation, control and prevention of avian flu. The department is continuously making efforts to spread awareness about AI through multiple platforms including social media (Twitter, Facebook handles).
