New Delhi: India has recently finalized a trade agreement with the United States. As part of the deal, American tariffs—previously at 50 percent—have been reduced to 18 percent. U.S. President Donald Trump personally announced the development. Following this move, it has been widely perceived that bilateral relations between India and the United States have improved.
However, India appears poised to deliver a diplomatic setback to President Trump regarding the Gaza Peace Plan. According to sources, New Delhi has decided not to participate in the upcoming meeting scheduled for February 19. The first session of the Gaza Peace Board, an initiative launched by President Trump, is set to take place on that date. Several countries are expected to attend this inaugural gathering, but India has chosen to remain absent.
