Islamabad. Pakistan’s Balochistan province is currently engulfed in severe violence and armed confrontation. In recent hours, the region has witnessed a level of bloodshed unprecedented in several decades. Following a series of coordinated attacks carried out by the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), security forces launched a large-scale search and counter-operation, during which 145 militants have been confirmed killed so far. The violent clashes have also claimed the lives of 17 Pakistani security personnel. In addition, militant attacks resulted in the deaths of 18 civilians, including women and children.
