Allahabad. Taking cognizance of the news related to the death of Kovid-19 patients due to lack of oxygen, the Allahabad High Court has directed the District Magistrates of Lucknow and Meerut to conduct a factual inquiry within 48 hours. The court has asked both the district magistrates to present their investigation report on the next hearing of the case and be present online in the court. At the same time, the High Court has made a strong comment that it is killing the patients and it is not less than the massacre. A bench of Justices Siddharth Verma and Justice Ajit Kumar gave this direction while hearing a PIL on the spread of infection in the state and the status of a separate habitat center. The court said, “We are sad to see that due to lack of oxygen supply to hospitals, Kovid patients are losing their lives.” It is a criminal act and is nothing short of a massacre by those who are tasked with ensuring the continuous purchase and supply of liquid medical oxygen. The bench said, “While science has advanced so much that these days heart transplantation and brain surgery are being done, how can we let our people die in this way.” Usually, we do not ask the state and district administration to check such reports of virus on social media, but the advocates presented in this PIL are supporting such reports, so it is up to us for the government to take steps in this regard immediately. It is necessary to say. The Delhi High Court on Tuesday asked the Center to give reasons why contempt proceedings should not be initiated against Kovid-19 patients for not being able to serve the order on the supply of oxygen to Delhi. The court said, “You can hide your head in the sand like an ostrich, we will not do that.” The bench said that the Supreme Court has already given orders, now the High Court is also saying that the Center should be Every day Delhi will have to supply 700 metric tons of oxygen.
