Chattogram. Bangladesh government’s Sports Adviser, Asif Nazrul, has stated that no one can exert pressure on the Bangladesh cricket team to play in India. He said that Bangladesh remains firm on its decision not to play its T20 World Cup matches in India. According to him, the government does not want to send the team to India due to security concerns.
Nazrul further said that if the ICC attempts to put pressure on Bangladesh under the influence of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), such pressure will not be tolerated. He added that Pakistan had also refused to play matches in India in the past, after which the ICC decided to change the venue. Bangladesh, too, is demanding a change of match venues on similar security-related grounds.
