Churachandpur: Manipur has once again witnessed a surge in unrest following the formation of the new government and the swearing-in ceremony. The situation turned particularly volatile in Churachandpur district on Thursday, when protests opposing the oath-taking of Nemcha Kipgen and L. Dikho as the newly appointed Deputy Chief Ministers escalated into violent clashes. In view of the heightened tension prevailing across the region, the administration has deployed extensive security forces to maintain law and order.
