Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu stated on Thursday that India has demonstrated, guided by the principle of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,’ how strategic autonomy can coexist with global responsibilities.
Speaking at the inaugural session of the third edition of the Indian Army’s ‘Chanakya Defence Dialogue-2025’ seminar, she praised the armed forces for exemplifying professionalism and patriotism in safeguarding national sovereignty. The President highlighted their remarkable adaptability and resilience across conventional, counter-terrorism, and humanitarian security challenges, while noting their contributions beyond operations as pillars of national development through infrastructure, connectivity, tourism, and education in border areas.
President Murmu expressed confidence that the dialogue’s discussions would offer policymakers valuable insights for shaping future national policies, with the armed forces continuing their pursuit of excellence toward a developed India by 2047.
