At a grand ceremony held in New Delhi, President Droupadi Murmu presented the Padma Awards 2026 to 65 eminent individuals in recognition of their exceptional contributions across various fields. The awardees included renowned personalities from arts, literature, education, science, sports, medicine, and social service, whose work has made a significant impact on society.
The event was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, senior ministers, and other distinguished guests. During this phase of the awards, two Padma Vibhushan, seven Padma Bhushan, and 56 Padma Shri honors were conferred. Several foreign nationals were also recognized for their outstanding achievements and contributions.
The Padma Awards are among India’s highest civilian honors and celebrate individuals who have demonstrated excellence and dedicated service in their respective fields.
