May Set to Be a Crucial Month for Indian Diplomacy

New Delhi: Amid rising tensions involving Iran, the United States, and Israel, the month of May is expected to play a significant role in shaping India’s diplomatic engagements. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to embark on a visit to four European nations. During this tour, discussions are likely to focus on trade, defense cooperation, and ongoing geopolitical developments, including the conflicts in Ukraine and West Asia, with countries such as Italy, the Vatican, Norway, Sweden, and the Netherlands.

Meanwhile, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will participate in key meetings of international groupings like BRICS and the Quad, both of which are set to be hosted in India. Additionally, the United States Secretary of Defense Marco Rubio and Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov are expected to visit India. The presidents of Vietnam and Cyprus are also scheduled to arrive in New Delhi, highlighting India’s active diplomatic calendar.
