New Delhi: India’s first indigenous aircraft carrier, INS Vikrant, and the nation’s newest stealth frigate, INS Udaygiri, have become the face of the Indian Navy’s presence at the International Fleet Review hosted by the Sri Lanka Navy. This marks their first overseas deployment, reflecting India’s strong commitment to regional maritime cooperation, peace, and stability across the Indian Ocean.
Both naval vessels are participating in a series of events including the Fleet Review, city parade, outreach programmes, and public interactions. During the celebrations, the ships will remain open for visitors, showcasing India’s advancing maritime capabilities and shipbuilding expertise.
INS Vikrant, the pride of India’s indigenous naval engineering, arrived in Sri Lanka to join the International Fleet Review being held to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Sri Lanka Navy. The event symbolizes a key milestone in regional maritime cooperation.
