Eight Soldiers Injured in Terrorist Encounter Three Airlifted

Operation Trashi-1 Underway in Sonar Area of Kishtwar

Jammu: Eight Army personnel were injured in a terrorist encounter in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir. According to officials, three of the injured soldiers were airlifted to the Udhampur Army Base Hospital for medical treatment.

The incident occurred in the upper forested Sonar area of Kishtwar, where the Indian Army’s White Knight Corps is conducting an anti-terror operation code-named Operation Trashi-1. During the operation security forces came under fire from terrorists leading to a fierce exchange of gunfire from both sides.

Reports indicate that two to three terrorists had been cornered by the troops when the militants launched a grenade attack resulting in injuries to the soldiers. Officials stated that the search operation is still ongoing. The area is being closely monitored using drones, and sniffer dogs have also been deployed.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police along with the Army and the CRPF are actively engaged in the search and cordon operation.
