Significant step forward in modernizing India’s armored warfare capabilities

The global security environment is evolving rapidly, driving a growing demand for cutting-edge weapon systems—from lethal missiles to modern fighter jets. To keep pace, countries are enhancing both domestic production and imports of advanced defense technologies. India, too, is actively participating in this global race to develop state-of-the-art military systems. Projects related to missiles, fighter aircraft, tanks, and air defense systems are being accelerated to meet national security needs on time.

In this direction, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has achieved another milestone by successfully testing the NAG Mk-2 Anti-Tank Guided Missile (ATGM). The test marks a major advancement in India’s defense technology and is expected to further strengthen the Indian Army’s operational capability, particularly in countering enemy movements along border regions.

The NAG Mk-2 guided missile stands apart from systems like BrahMos, Agni-5, and the U.S. Tomahawk, offering a distinct design and functionality tailored specifically for anti-tank operations.
