Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Friday announced that the Indian women’s cricket team will play a five-match T20 International series against Sri Lanka from December 21 to 30. The matches will be hosted in Visakhapatnam and Thiruvananthapuram. This series holds special significance for the Women in Blue, as it marks their first international appearance since winning the World Cup earlier this November.
India was initially scheduled to host Bangladesh during the same window, but the series was postponed due to ongoing political tensions between the two countries.The Sri Lankan women’s team will return to India for a bilateral T20 series for the first time since 2016, when India had swept the visitors 3–0.
