Delhi: Indian airlines including IndiGo, Air India, and Air India Express face significant disruptions on Saturday as Airbus mandates urgent software and hardware upgrades for up to 6,000 A320 family aircraft worldwide due to a critical flight control vulnerability linked to intense solar radiation.

The issue stems from analysis of a recent A320 incident where solar radiation potentially corrupted essential data in the Elevator and Aileron Computer (ELAC), risking uncommanded pitch movements that could exceed structural limits, according to the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
