A 20-year-old Indian-origin man, Varun Bachigari, has been arrested in Germany in connection with the alleged murder of 19-year-old college student Julissa Ruby Salazar in Arizona, United States. Police said Salazar was found dead inside her apartment in Tucson, with visible injuries on her body. Investigators suspect that she may have been strangled. According to authorities, Bachigari allegedly left the United States after the incident and traveled to Germany, where he was reportedly preparing to travel to India. Acting on information shared by U.S. agencies, German authorities detained him. His extradition to the United States is now expected to be initiated.
