A 28-year-old habitual offender, Irshad Ali, also known as Sukir Ali, was arrested by Delhi Police following an armed encounter in New Delhi. The accused was wanted in connection with multiple incidents of robbery, snatching, and theft, and has more than 39 criminal cases registered against him.
According to the police, the suspect opened fire in an attempt to evade arrest. Officers responded in self-defense, during which he sustained a gunshot wound to the leg. Authorities recovered an illegal pistol, live ammunition, and a stolen motorcycle from his possession.
The injured accused is currently receiving medical treatment at a hospital. Police have launched further investigations to identify his associates and uncover the wider criminal network linked to his activities.
