In Andhra Pradesh, during the first wave of Kovid-19 from March to September 2020, cases crossed five lakhs, but during the second wave only 5.71 lakh cases have been reported in May 2021. As per the data, there were 11.21 lakh cases of infection in the state at the beginning of May 2021, which increased to 16,93,085 by the end of the month. Till May 25, one lakh cases were reported every five days. However, once again the shortage is being recorded.
In a month, 5.46 lakh people became infection free and 2,877 people died in the state. According to the data, during the first wave of infection between August 1 and 31 last year, 2.84 lakh cases were reported, out of which 2.53 lakh people became infection free and 2,562 people died. Then the rate of samples coming infected had reached 16.89 percent, but in May this year, the rate had gone up to 25.56 (on May 16) percent. According to the data, on May 5, the maximum number of 1.16 samples were tested for Kovid-19 in a single day.
The maximum number of 24,171 new cases were reported on 16 May and the maximum number of 24,819 people became infection free on 19 May and maximum 118 people died of infection on 22 May. Between May 16 and May 20, more than one lakh cases of Kovid-19 were reported. On May 17, the number of patients under treatment had also reached the highest at 2.11 lakh.
