New Delhi. Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has said that we had locked down last time, but then migrants from Ludhiana from other states. He said that we are not going to shut down the economy, we are not going to close the mall market, but are trying to reduce the number of them, our aim is to give security instead of harassing someone. He said that the new strain of Corona is hunting the younger generation, it is more in the city right now, but it is growing worryingly in the rural areas.
In a TV program on the growing threat of Coronavirus in the country and measures to deal with it, Amarinder Singh said that the purpose of the sanctions related to Corona should be to provide security to the people instead of putting them in trouble. The Captain counted all such positive measures of the Punjab government and asked him to let the states decide what to do on issues related to Corona, because there is a different thinking among the Chief Ministers in Delhi, Punjab or elsewhere.
On lack of Corona vaccine, Amarinder said that we have about 3 lakh doses, but right now we are able to give up to 1.5 lakhs. But if we vaccinate at full capacity, then only 1-2 days of stock will be left. So when there was a shortage in the country, what was the need to gift it to other countries. If we had enough reserves, there was no wrong in doing so.
Amarinder cited the example of quarantine Corona positives or those in contact with them. The Chief Minister said that we are giving them food kit, which contains all the things including flour, pulses and rice. Poor families are being helped in this way, so that they do not have to face any kind of trouble due to the corona epidemic. Corona patients are also being provided a kit with 20 types of medicines, so that they do not have to wander for it. On measures related to prevention of Corona, the Chief Minister said that we have deployed teams of doctors in government procurement centers and mandis of wheat, which are doing random testing there. If someone is seen walking in a car without wearing a mask, not only does he pay a fine of 500 rupees, but also stops the car and gets them tested.
Regarding action on social distancing or not applying masks, the captain said that he believes that people do not listen to others when they are young. They also used to do this. But the youth will have to understand that this is a dangerous disease, which is also making the younger generation fast victims.
