The Canadian government has announced revised processing timelines for immigration and visa applications, bringing relief to applicants from India and Pakistan. According to the latest update, work permit applications submitted from Pakistan are now being processed within approximately six weeks, while applicants from India can expect decisions in about nine weeks. In addition, the processing time for work permit applications filed from within Canada has been reduced to 206 days.
The study permit category has also seen significant improvements. Processing times for Pakistani applicants have been shortened from 11 weeks to seven weeks, while applications from India are currently being processed in as little as four weeks.
In contrast, applicants from Nigeria may experience longer waiting periods, as processing times for certain visa categories have increased. Meanwhile, processing timelines for applicants from the United States and the Philippines have remained relatively stable, with no major changes reported.
