New Delhi . Former Home Minister and Congress leader P.W. Chidambaram said that Rajya Sabha records and video records would prove that agriculture laws were not fully discussed, microphones of some MPs were switched off and the demand for division of votes was also rejected. He termed the statement of the Ministry of External Affairs as ridicule of truth, stating that the agricultural laws were passed after a full debate in Parliament. Chidambaram said that if the Ministry of External Affairs tries to manipulate the truth, then who will believe his statement.
It is to be known that the Ministry of External Affairs had said that the Parliament had passed these reformist agricultural laws after full debate and discussion.
The Foreign Ministry released the statement on Wednesday following a tweet by international celebrity Rihanna, environmental activist Greta Thunberg. These celebrities showed their solidarity with the peasant movement.
