New Delhi: A remarkable and unique display of the growing ties between India and the United States was witnessed during a grand event held at Bharat Mandapam. The special ceremony was organized to mark the 250th anniversary of American independence. The audience was left surprised when former US President Donald Trump directly called US Ambassador Sergio Gor on his mobile phone during the event. Ambassador Gor placed the phone near the main microphone so that everyone present could hear the conversation live.
Speaking during the live call, Donald Trump openly expressed his admiration and warmth toward India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Trump said, “I would like to greet everyone attending the event. I truly admire India’s Prime Minister. Narendra Modi is a great leader and also a very good friend of mine. I am a huge admirer of PM Modi.”
Highlighting the strengthening relationship between the two nations on the global stage, Trump further stated that India and the United States had never been closer than they are today. He added that the people of India could place complete trust in him and in America. Trump also remarked that whenever India needs assistance, it knows exactly whom to call.
